Do Black mambas or another snake that can stand up live in the usa? My great grandmother told a story of being chased by a snake that stood on end and that was about 5 to 6 feet tall when standing straight up. the only snake that I have heard that can do this is a black mamba. are there any others? |
| rattle snakes do that, and king cobras. black mambas don't live in the US though. |

| that is a very dangerous animal, you may have to exterminate them, however if you have an animal control division, in your district, they may wish to catch them for purposes of making anti-venom. good luck |
How many Black Mambas would it take to kill a Blue Whale? say they teamed up on it. |
couldnt happen, it would swallow them, then they would all be starving in the belly of the whale.

Do black mambas make for good home protection "pet"? If you know how to handle snakes, and capture them safely, would a black mamba make for good home protection item while I'm away?
I will post a warning everywhere saying that house is protected by venomous and deadly black mamba snake, so people will know.
Could I get into trouble if an intruder is killed by it? |
| No, you couldn't get in trouble if the signs were placed appropriately in highly visible places. If you're actually getting a black mamba then you should really know that it is the fast land snake in the world and the second largest venomous snake in the world. The mortality rate is 100% from bites and you could be dead within 15 minutes of a bite. No, even a trained snake expert would have a heck of a time trying to capture the snake and avoid dying from its fangs, so please, don't get a black mamba, get something simpler like a Rottweiler or a German shepherd. |
What plants can be used for medicinal purposes to cure bites from black or green mambas? Brief description of what the plant does for a mamba bite would be awesome! Don't worry, no one was bitten. |
| They're called the "two step" because that's as far as you're going to get after being bitten before you die. Considering this, I doubt there are ANY plants that are going to help much. |
Can black mambas live in arkansas? my dad says he seen a grey snake that was about six feet long while he was in arkansas, he doesnt kno what kind, i think it sounds like a black mamba but im probably wrong, i just want opinions. |
| They probably could. If so let us hope it was just one that dies out. Pythons could move as far North as Memphis with no problem. Or farther. Wish you had got a photo. There are more than one gray snake. |
